Various and Sundry

Here are a few things I’ve fished on the blogosphere over the past few hours:

A Gentleman’s C talks about the consequences of adopting a business-like model of salary payments at his university. In one word, they were abysmal.

The Commissar suggests solutions to the Iraq quagmire, both within US politics and in Iraq itself.

Stentor rebuts an argument that appeared in the Washington Post that the US isn’t doing anything about climate change because the third world stands to lose more from a global sea level rise.

Hilzoy at Obsidian Wings excerpts a beautiful Thomas Friedman column about how the Bush administration talks the anti-terrorist talk but doesn’t walk the walk – at least, not without stumbling all over itself.
