Weblog Award Endorsements

There are two large weblog award contests every year – Wizbang’s Weblog Awards, and the Koufax Awards. Voting for the 2006 Weblog Awards is now open, featuring several great blogs and a plethora of mediocre or risible ones. Unfortunately I didn’t make Best New Blog, but I’m mostly aiming for the Koufax. You can vote once a day, so vote early and vote often.

My official slate of endorsements is,

Best Individual Blog: Majikthise (which is 250 votes down, but still a lot better than the alternatives)
Best Liberal Blog: Pandagon (where the contest is about a 7-way tossup)
Best LGBT Blog: Pam’s House Blend (which is leading by 60 votes)
Best Science Blog: Good Math, Bad Math, with apologies to PZ (the contest is really just between Pharyngula and Bad Astronomy)
Best European Blog (non-UK): A Fistful of Euros (too few people are voting in that category…)
Best Top 250 Blog
: Feministe (which is running neck-and-neck with Stop the ACLU, so go vote)
Update: Best Medical/Health Issues Blog: Respectful Insolence (which is leading by 30 votes, but too few people are voting)

The rest don’t have blogs worth voting for, as far as I can tell. I already know what the best Canadian blog around is, and it didn’t make the contest.

*oh dear* You’ve just given too much credit to a blog that gets far too little attention as of late… well, by its blogger anyway. I blame it on exams. But thank you anyway.

My votes were similar to yours, except I didn’t vote for Pam’s House Blend or Good Math Bad Math.

  2. Kristjan Wager says:

I think htere are a couple of good candidates under Best Medical/Health Issues Blogs – I personally voted for Respectful Insolence, but a coupleof the others are also quite good.

  3. Alon Levy says:

Thanks, Kristjan. I’m actually more into Effect Measure, but for some reason it didn’t make the cut.
