Dry Spell

I know I’ve been posting relatively little, and relatively boring posts, lately. It’s mutual. For some reason, almost every blog I read has registered a drop in quality in the last week or so. Ezra, Echidne, Feministing, Feministe – all of them used to be a lot better than they are now. If I had to reconstitute my blogroll now, there wouldn’t be much on it, except Majikthise and UTI, and a few smaller blogs like Appletree and Just Dreadful and Growth Rate n lg n and Debitage.

Since I tend to be a remora blogger, commenting mostly on stories I get from other blogs, this tends to screw up my blogging too. On forums, I’ve never been a good thread starter; on blogs, the stuff I produce from scratch, like radical pathologies, gets depressingly little feedback.

Fortunately, the few blogs that aren’t changing their coverage to the post-election equivalent of horserace politics are providing me with more than enough to talk about. So expect an uptick in linking to the blogs I’ve been reading since 2005 and to those I’ve only discovered recently.
